What's happening - 4 June 2006

Canola prices are on a strong upward trend.
This is good for our farmers growing Canola and I believe this will also increase the amount of Value Adding that can be achieved by on-farm processing.
There have been a number of articles in the local press about Diesel powered cars (Advertiser) and Biodiesel Production & Use (Stock Journal & Mt Barker Courier), so interest and awareness by the general population is really starting to build.
There is an upcoming report on ABC's Landline featuring Brendan Maloney, a Yorke Peninsula farmer who has been using Biodiesel (B49) for a number of years across his whole fleet of vehicles.
At last both Oilpresses have been ordered (1 tonne per day with electric motor and 2-3 tonne per day which will be driven by a Diesel motor) and should be here soon.
My shipment of small Diesel engines is in the country and I should be collecting them this week. One is destined for my demo press and the rest will be for demonstration and evaluation.
The ordering and importation process has been instructive and a number of trading relationships formed.
